They believe they need constant external validation to feel good about themselves. This makes them feel like you always have the better end of the deal when you interact with them. While you enjoy your life, they are left wondering why no one wants to be around them.
Number 6: You Are Independent and Self-Sufficient
You don’t rely on anyone for anything; if you do, it’s because you want to, not because you have to. You are strong and confident in who you are. Narcissists are drawn to vulnerable people because they see them as easy targets. When they encounter someone who is independent, they feel threatened, knowing they can’t manipulate them for attention and admiration.
Number 7: You Know What Makes You Happy
The narcissist’s biggest fear is that you are happy and don’t need them for happiness. You’ve found what truly makes your soul sing, and they are terrified of being left behind. Narcissists want to control you and keep you dependent on them, fearing the loss of their power if you find joy outside of them.
Number 8: You Are Not Easily Persuaded
Narcissists fear you because you are not easily persuaded. They want you to follow their agenda without question, but when you have your own opinions and ways of doing things, it threatens them. If you resist their attempts to dominate you, it becomes harder for them to control you.
