The second thing God does to a narcissist is take away all their sources of supply. For example, a narcissistic parent may lose all contact with the children they thought they had caged and owned. When these children recognize the narcissism in their parent, they completely cut them off, and the narcissist is left to suffer alone. God takes away all their power, strength, and the things they used to boast about. I have seen this happen with my own paternal grandfather, who was a militant narcissist and thought of himself as a god. He used to walk with pride and arrogance and instill fear in his family. Now, he is left as a bunch of bones, lonely and rotting every day. No child of his cares about him because they are all narcissists like him. He always reminisces about his past glories, unable to accept his current reality.
God lets narcissists live a long life, but it is not a gift; it is suffering. They go through every single day in misery.
3. They live in a constant state of dissatisfaction and dysphoria.
The third thing God does to a narcissist is let them live in a pure state of dissatisfaction and dysphoria. The narcissist thinks nothing is ever enough; they always want more. It’s like a vessel with a hole at the bottom—everything leaks out. They are never thankful or grateful, and this applies to everything in their lives, including themselves. No matter what they do, they feel something is missing. This sense of dissatisfaction is projected onto others, especially their sources of supply. That’s why they demand more from you—dress better, gain weight, lose weight, look a certain way, do more for them. No matter what you do, the target keeps moving. This projection creates a toxic cycle they get trapped in, making them blind to their own shortcomings.
