Comment number five: Do you think I’m that stupid? When you say that to a narcissist, you are calling them stupid; they know that thing is embedded in the statement. You’re saying, “Do you think I’m that stupid to believe what you say about me? Do you think I’ll just take it and buy it? Do you think I’ll just personalize it? That crazy, delusional of yours, the way you think, it’s quite black and white, it’s rigid, it’s unintelligent, it doesn’t make any sense. You’re talking like a toddler, you’re throwing tantrums like you’re four, you’re always stuck in an adult’s body. How can you be that stupid not to see what you’re actually doing? Do you think I’ll just take feedback from someone who has no true foundation in themselves to give someone any feedback that can be called reliable? How can you know me when you do not know who you are yourself? Do you think I’m that stupid to be triangulated? Do you think I’m that stupid that I’ll take that comparison, this comparison that you’re creating between me and the new supply? I know it is just this other thing, this other trophy, this other source of supply that you’re using to get collective supply. Do you think I’ll be jealous just because he or she is now in the picture? Of course not. Do you think I’m that stupid to believe that it has to be just your way just because you say it, just because you want it to be your way? Of course not. You may be that crazy, but I am not.”
In a nutshell, a narcissist’s ego is so fragile that anything, literally anything, can trigger them into raging. They become this primitive being who just knows how to be angry and nothing else. It has nothing to do with how you say things, what you say, what words you use, and what you don’t, because they want you to believe that the problem is with how you speak to them and not their insecure self.
