Narcissists eye your children or your loved ones with envy to contaminate the bond and harmony. One of the most terrifying ways a narcissist uses the evil eye is by targeting the relationships you value the most. They send envy toward your children, loved ones, and anyone who shares a close bond with you. This can even apply to their own children. If you are the parent who shows true love and care, and the children return that love, the narcissist cannot bear it. They cannot handle seeing a genuine connection they do not have power over.
To a narcissist, love is a tool for manipulation; it’s a means to get others to comply. When they see true love, real affection, and an honest bond that they cannot corrupt, they feel unbearable hatred. If your children listen to you, admire you, and laugh with you, the narcissist is filled with bitterness. They cannot generate this kind of love on their own; they cannot force it either, and that is what burns and enrages them.
Then what do they do? They begin to stare at your children, your loved ones, and unfortunately, your relationships become filled with poisonous energy. Soon, the effects of that energy become obvious. Conflicts start erupting, arguments appear out of nowhere, and situations escalate that previously felt calm and safe. The connection begins to feel strained and difficult. You find yourself confused because you have not done anything to cause this, yet the emotional climate keeps changing. The love and harmony dissolve, tension grows, mental stress increases, and the bond begins to fade. It is the vampiric energy of the narcissist contaminating the relationship. They want you isolated and disconnected from sources of love because isolation gives them power and control over you. This extends beyond your children; any person who loves or respects you becomes a target. The narcissist sends envy toward those people as well, poisoning the connection so that they drift away and you are left alone.
