Narcissists believe you are not trustworthy. They enter relationships with a scorekeeping mindset, setting up binary thinking: one is the winner, and the other is the loser. You will automatically be the designated loser. When you express different thoughts and ideas, they view everything about you as bad and defective. They need to believe this regardless of any evidence to the contrary. - They are enlightened.
Narcissists think of themselves as misunderstood, enlightened individuals. This reflects a lack of personal insight. They see themselves as superior and believe they know how things should be. This inflated sense of ego allows them to hold onto negative feelings when you disagree. - I would have no problems if it weren’t for you.
They whitewash their own negative characteristics, refusing to admit their role in conflicts. They believe any problems they have are caused by you, viewing themselves as ideal. - Your perceptions are consistently wrong.
Narcissists dismiss your perceptions as wrong, eliminating their willingness to listen to alternative viewpoints. They believe it’s right or wrong, and since you disagree, you must be wrong. - I know you better than you know yourself.
They view themselves as the keepers of wisdom, ascribing judgment based on their need to keep you in a subordinate position. This lie illustrates their lack of understanding and empathy. - Whatever problems you have, you brought it on yourself.
If you express struggles related to them, they’ll respond by blaming you, showing no compassion or willingness to explore the context of your comments. - I have no need for collaboration.
They believe they don’t need input from others, adopting a lone wolf mentality. They tie this to their perceived superiority, but in reality, it stems from their fear of collaboration due to past pain.
