They do not want you to shine; they want you to struggle and suffer. They hate your true self because they know they can never be like you. They hate your skills, talents, and ability to connect with others. They have to wear a facade, a mask, to interact with the world. If they were to show their true selves, no one would even acknowledge them. But you can be who you are, make friends, and attract others because of your authenticity, something they can never steal from you.
Number Seven: When you leave the narcissist.
This is when they hate you the most. They do not want to be abandoned; they want to abandon you. When you leave them, you prove them wrong, shatter their grandiose self-image, and destroy their false ego. By cutting ties and blocking them, you render them powerless, and they respond with rage. They might launch smear campaigns against you, but those eventually fade away.
