Narcissists are concerned about their reputation, and a reputation for infidelity is a surefire way to ruin their social standing. They know that their relationship will end if their partner finds out about cheating. For this reason, narcissists are extremely careful about who they cheat with, not wanting any chance of getting caught. Even if they do get caught, they know their relationship is over, making it better to cut their losses than try to salvage something.
Number 7: They Are Extremely Jealous of People Who Get Their Partner’s Attention
Narcissists tend to be extremely jealous, so they’ll do anything to avoid getting caught in the act. They are very insecure and terrified of abandonment, which leads them to ensure their partner stays loyal. Narcissists want all the attention for themselves; when someone else starts to receive attention from their partner, it can feel like an attack on them. This makes them more likely to lash out at that person rather than cheat because they don’t want to lose their partner’s attention.
