I’m competitive in an intense and scary way. I will compete with everyone about everything. If you ask me, I’ll tell you I always win. The way I see it is that the winner is the one with the power, and I need to control everyone I encounter. It’s not a competition if there isn’t anyone worthy to challenge me.
The first step to positive change is self-awareness, something that narcissists lack. The lies they tell themselves embed in their brain and become part of their false narrative. Until the narcissist is honest with themselves, they’ll continue to be a destructive force in the lives of others and their own lives.
