When a Narcissist Turns People Against You…Do THIS
What do you do when a narcissist turns people against you? And make no mistake, turning everybody against you is one of their biggest tactics. Well, I’m going to tell you exactly what you should do when that happens.
The first thing you’ve got to understand is this: people often ask, “Well, why does a narcissist do this?” When a narcissist can’t control you, the only thing they have left is to control what everybody else thinks about you. They want to ruin you, ruin your reputation, character assassinate you, and make you out to be the villain—the narcissist, the bad guy. That’s what they want to do, and that is exactly what the covert narcissist will do.
You see, a covert narcissist secretly hates you for whatever reason. They could hate you because they’re jealous of you. They could hate you for the fact that you have boundaries, that you challenge them, or that you’re strong. Or, they could hate you because the relationship broke up and now they’ve got to protect themselves. So, they want to look like the victim and make you out to be the villain.

Let me tell you exactly what these people do, because I have lived this and I have been a victim of it. What they’re going to do is plant little things in people’s minds even before the relationship actually breaks down. This is how they set you up. They’ll start saying little things about you, like, “Oh, I don’t know why they always question me about that; they’re so insecure,” or, “They’re just jealous of me,” or, “They’re an angry person.” They plant all these seeds to make people think there’s something wrong with you, or that you love drama and love to fight. And all the while, they play the good guy. So, before you even have the fallout with that narcissist, those people have already been manipulated.
When the fallout finally comes, that’s when the narcissist goes full force. They badmouth you, but they do it from a place of concern so they don’t look like the bad guy attacking you. Suddenly, all these people look at you like you’re the monster, like you’re the problem. And what do people do? They distance themselves from you, or they start acting weird around you.
