The narcissist thrives on power and control, feeding off the pain and confusion they inflict on their targets.
Their inability to genuinely love or care for others is a fundamental aspect of their character. The narcissist needs you, not out of affection, but because you provide them with the validation they crave. You become a vital resource, like oxygen or fuel, allowing the narcissist to survive emotionally. But this need is not based on love—it’s purely self-serving.
