When dealing with over-cleaning as a trauma response, it’s crucial to channel that energy inward and see what needs processing. Engage in healthy activities—perhaps boxing classes, trauma-informed yoga, or swimming. You need a variety of outlets, not just one. Be aware of the unprocessed energy centers in your body that require attention.

Rest and digest are just as vital as the flight response. Your body can’t remain in a heightened state indefinitely; it needs to come down and prepare for a healthy landing. This principle applies to your physical and emotional well-being.
