Everything else is just meaningless entertainment.
Think about it from their perspective. A narcissist can spend their entire weekend texting people, scrolling through dating apps, or making plans for secret meetups. They can have multiple emotional and physical affairs running simultaneously. But in their minds, because they come home to you at the end of the day, because they’re still legally married to you, and because they have not packed their bags and left, they believe they are being loyal. Their definition of loyalty is purely transactional and surface-level. It’s about the big visible commitments—marriage certificates, shared bank accounts, mortgage payments, and children. These are the things that matter to them because they provide stability, security, and social credibility. The person they’re cheating with? That’s just supply—temporary, replaceable, and ultimately meaningless in their grand scheme of things.
