So, when you ignore them or go no contact you are making it clear that that is not the case and their treatment of you is unacceptable. You are telling them that they are not as important or relevant as they thought. You are telling them that you do not care.
The final and best message of all that you are sending to the Narcissist is that they have lost you. You are one of the fortunate ones that got away from their lies, manipulations and abuse. You are one of the few who saw through their fakeness and refuse to tolerate them and their toxicity. And because the Narcissist never forgets those who turn their backs on them, you will always be etched in their memory as one that got away.
Someone that they can no longer manipulate and control. But as I said before the Narcissist in their delusional minds will at first try to create many other excuses as to why you have shut them out. Even telling others that you have lost your mind or that you are behaving strangely as they can’t understand why you have blocked them. They will play the innocent victim to others, but in their minds, they know exactly why you have shut them out and it will bother them all the more the longer you can maintain zero contact or the longer you can maintain ignoring them. Because sometimes the Narcissist just doesn’t give up.
Removing Narcissists from our lives is important and whichever method works for you that is fine. The most important thing is that you are consistent and that you don’t ever give in to any of their hoovering attempts or their desperate tricks to come back in. That is the only way these messages will hit like a brick.
