Your Place in the Narcissist’s Hierarchy
After all these things, there’s you. As I said earlier, you are somewhere in the hierarchy, but you are at the lowest level. Everything comes before you. Narcissists care more about their clothes, their possessions, and how they appear to others than they care about you. While you may be a premium source of supply, you are replaceable. If they can find someone else to give them what they need, they won’t hesitate to move on.
To sum it up, you are merely a small part of a narcissist’s pyramid of affection. They give you a place because you provide them with supply, but ultimately, their need for control and admiration from other sources always comes first. They use and abuse you to feel in control, but you are far from their top priority.
