A fifth common phrase narcissists might use is, “You were just an oops child,” or, “You were a mistake,” or, “There’s something fundamentally defective about you.” 5. YOU’RE FUNDAMENTALLY DEFECTIVE. They want to instill the belief that at the core of your being, you’re defective, unworthy, and that you should be lucky to have them around.
Sometimes they’ll say, “Nobody thinks like that,” when you try to express your thoughts or interpretations. 6. NOBODY THINKS LIKE THAT. If nobody thinks like that, they imply, why would you go in that direction?
A seventh phrase they use is, “You shouldn’t even act that way.” 7. YOU SHOULDN’T ACT THAT WAY. This applies whether it’s about how you conduct yourself in public or how you deal with personal matters.
An eighth phrase they often resort to is, “If you go against me, you’ll be sorry.” 8. IF YOU GO AGAINST ME, YOU’LL BE SORRY. The implication is that if you express your thoughts, you’ll be wrong, and you may face punishment. Do you really want to go down that path?

Lastly, the tenth phrase is, “Why would anyone be attracted to someone like you?”
