A relationship with a narcissist cannot work because the narcissist does not value or care about you. They don’t listen to what you say, and they don’t respect your thoughts or feelings. Trying to explain yourself to a narcissist is like teaching a two-year-old complex math—they won’t understand, and worse, they don’t even want to.
The relationship will always be one-sided, and no matter how hard you try, you will always be the one who loses. The narcissist will never change because they believe they are already perfect. For them, life is a game they must win, and in their mind, you exist only to serve their victory. The only way to truly break free from this toxic cycle is to remove yourself from the illusion and recognize that you deserve more than to be a tool in someone else’s life.
When the relationship ends, you will be slandered, blamed, and discarded, but ultimately, breaking away from a narcissist is the only way to reclaim your peace, self-worth, and independence. A narcissist may never change, but you have the power to walk away from the illusion and seek a healthier, more fulfilling life.
