We are the enemy that they must defeat. In the mind of the Narcissist, the enemy is without not within. So, even if they fall head of heels for someone today, they will still hate them tomorrow. This is a cycle that has to constantly repeat itself. Because as I discussed in this article Narcissists are paranoid and they think everyone is out to get to them.
So, no matter how kind you are to the Narcissist, no matter how much love you show, the Narcissist will still view you as the enemy and their competition. But to conclude Narcissists should not be trusted. Because they will tell lies to you, they will slander you and they will try to embarrass you. They want you to be laughed at, humiliated, and scorned. They want others to view you as below them.
