When a narcissist interacts with you, they do not care about your emotions at all. They don’t care how destroyed you are or how hurt you are by their words. When they lose complete control over you, they become psychotic because losing total control is unacceptable to them. If you give a narcissist an injury big enough to bring the demon out of them, you will see their eyes turning black. At that point, the destroyer comes out of them – the destroyer willing to destroy anything in its way just to take revenge and regain control. The brain’s parts involved in regulating eye movement do not function properly when they are raging. Due to the lack of proper emotion regulation, they just lose it when they step into that zone. In normal cases, when we feel angry, our eyes react – our pupils dilate, and irises appear bigger. In narcissistic individuals, these reactions are extreme, giving the impression of a soulless, reptilian-like gaze. When cortisol and adrenaline are released in the bloodstream, it takes over and completely disregulates a personality type like this, causing them to go crazy with anger. This shows up in their eyes as blackness due to dilated pupils and high hormone levels compared to a non-narcissistic angry person.
These are the reasons why you would see eyes blackening out in a narcissistic personality type and why it happens. When a narcissist’s eyes become like this, they are not present – the agency that controls our behaviors and actions, even when we are really angry, is gone. The destroyer comes out, and they become this vicious, venomous, demonic being that walks over anything in its way.
Now, let’s discuss the spiritual aspect. Spiritually speaking, narcissism is a spiritual disorder due to the absolute lack of self-awareness and awareness of a higher power. There is no connection with the soul or the higher power, the universe, or God. This person is stuck in an ego state, overtaken by animalistic and primal ego desires. Whenever there is a presence of light, the universe, higher understanding, or self-awareness, evil takes place. Evil makes that soul or heart its home because the narcissist is disconnected from everything beyond themselves. The evil that makes its home in their heart shows up when they lose control, and their eyes turn black. Some people have even witnessed scales or unusual skin development on narcissists during such episodes. It’s challenging to explain, but it’s related to the absence of truth, giving birth to falsehood when the facade breaks. When the constructed and projected image breaks, the true narcissistic evil self surfaces, and their eyes change.
In a nutshell, there are two explanations: one is related to how their brain is designed – the prefrontal cortex, lack of empathy, and dysregulation in processing empathy. The other explanation is spiritual – the absence of light, connection with the higher truth, and the presence of evil in their heart. These factors bring about the change in their eyes.
