The third reason why Narcissists like to rush things along is to avoid anyone else slipping in there before them. Narcissists are opportunists and they refuse to allow a good catch to pass them by. But this is also one of the reasons why Narcissists cheat. Because although they may already be in a relationship if something else good comes along, they want that too. They will not be happy seeing someone else with what they wanted. So, they prefer to slide in there and plant their hooks into that person as well. And if someone else is already in that position that they want they will do their best to kick them out of it.
Remember that Narcissists are very competitive and will compete for the attention or affection of the person they admire. But to recap these are the reasons why the Narcissist is so motivated to move relationships on to the next level as quickly as possible. The first point is that the love-bombing phase is exhausting and the less the Narcissist can invest the better.
They want you emotionally invested before their mask slips, or they screw up in any way. THREE. They don’t want anyone else to slip through to take their place. And as a result of all this, the Narcissist wants to win your affection and trust now! They want you all to move in together, now. They want you to tell them all your secrets now! They want your loyalty now! I think you get the point, and it is because they are not genuine.
 Narcissists only want to get close to people who they can benefit from. And that is why they don’t mind investing a little now in hopes to gain a lot more in the future. The Narcissist does nothing for free. Any favors they do for you they are expecting big returns. And once they win you over the roles are reversed and you are the one giving, giving, giving while they will keep taking and taking until there is nothing left.
