If they care about their public image, you might notice discrepancies between their actions and the empathetic, socially positive persona they project.
Manipulation and gaslighting are also telltale signs, especially if they make you doubt your reality or twist situations to appear as the victim. You may feel like you’re constantly walking on eggshells, doubting your memories, and even questioning your own sanity.
Charm is another tool narcissists use to get what they want. They’re often adept at seducing and sweet-talking, though the charm varies depending on the type of narcissist.
A sense of entitlement is one of the hallmark traits of narcissism. They expect special treatment without reciprocating empathy or consideration. If your partner consistently demands you put their needs first without regard for yours, it’s a sign of entitlement.
Another key sign is if they criticize or belittle you, often making you feel worthless. For example, if you spend hours cooking for them, they might criticize your meal or find fault with your appearance or lifestyle. This devaluation can be gradual but is emotionally damaging.
