The older a narcissist gets, the more unstable they become. Their desperation to maintain a never-ending façade of a perfect life increases exponentially. Beyond pretending to be young, they often target younger individuals in dating scenarios to metaphorically “feed off” their youth. Why do they do this? There are two key reasons.
What Drives a Narcissist?
If I were to ask what matters most to a narcissist, most would say their reputation, image, how they’re perceived, their identity, personality, and lifestyle—all aspects of the illusion they’ve constructed. However, as narcissists age, this illusion weakens, driving them to extreme measures to preserve it. One tactic they use is pursuing younger partners.
