When the Narcissist’s Karma Finally Arrives ⏳… The Collapse is Terrifying to Watch.
This is the stage of profound hoarding—not just physical items, though that happens too. They hoard grievances. They collect grudges like trophies. They live entirely in the past, talking endlessly about how great they used to be or how terribly they were treated. The present moment is just too painful for them to inhabit.
Financial ruin often follows. Their grandiosity leads to reckless decisions. They gamble. They overspend to maintain a lifestyle they cannot afford—or they get fired for being too difficult to work with. The resources they once used to buy affection are gone. They are left with nothing but debts and shattered relationships.
The isolation is now complete and absolute. They have alienated their family. Their friends have vanished. Their romantic partners have all fled in terror. They are completely alone in a world they view as hostile and unfair. They are screaming into a void that simply does not care anymore. This is their permanent reality.
Some of them slide into deep substance abuse to numb the unbearable reality of their existence. Others become religious zealots, using spirituality as their final mask to judge the world. But whatever coping mechanism they choose, it is hollow. It brings no comfort. It only serves to prolong the agony of their isolation.
You might hear about their downfall through the grapevine. A part of you might even feel a twinge of pity. You have a good heart, so it is natural to feel sad for a broken human being. But do not let that pity pull you back in.
Remember: if you reach out a hand to save them, they will use it to pull you down into the mud. Their collapse is not a cry for help. It is a temper tantrum because the universe stopped obeying their commands. They do not want healing. They want a host. They want someone to absorb their misery so they don’t have to feel it.
You already paid your dues. You survived the war. Do not walk back onto the battlefield.
