5 Things God Does When an Empath and a Narcissist Are Not Destined to Be Together
You’ll wake up one random day, look at the narcissist from across the room, and feel something you have never felt for them before: pure, absolute disgust.
It is not anger. It is not sadness. It is a visceral, physical repulsion.
You watch them chew their food, and your stomach turns. Or you hear the sound of their voice and your stomach completely flips. It feels as though a thick fog has been vacuumed out of your brain.
You look at them and no longer see the charming, mysterious person you fell in love with.
You just see a small, pathetic, hollow shell of a human being.
This sudden shift is not a mood swing. It is the universe rewiring your nervous system.
Your spirit is suddenly rejecting their energy. In the same way a healthy body rejects a terrible virus, God removes the rose-colored glasses and replaces them with a magnifying glass—making it completely impossible for you to ever romantically desire them again.
Number three: you run into bizarre, frustrating roadblocks every single time you try to take a deeper step with them.
When we’re deeply trauma bonded, we often think the solution to the relationship’s problems is to just get closer.
You think if you move in together, they’ll feel safe and the abuse will go away. Or you think if you get married—or buy a house together—they’ll finally settle down and love you.
You put all your energy into taking that next big step that costs you everything. But if you are not destined to be with this narcissist, God, the universe, the higher power will throw massive concrete barricades in your path.
Every single time you try to tie your life permanently to theirs, something bizarre will go wrong.
The mortgage for the shared house will mysteriously fall through at the absolute last minute.
The wedding venue will double-book.
Right before you’re supposed to sign a lease, the narcissist will throw the most dramatic, most chaotic, unprovoked tantrum of their life—and that forces you to cancel the plans.
At the time, it feels incredibly frustrating. I understand it. You cry to God, asking why you’re having such bad luck. You feel like the universe is punishing you by ruining your plans and peace.
