When a Narcissist Realizes You’ll NEVER Come Back l 5 Moves They Make
Assuming hoovering, lovebombing, and exploitation fail—because you aren’t weak or vulnerable and you’re taking excellent care of yourself—move number three is coming.
They send in flying monkeys and little minions: meddling family, friends, neighbors, and sometimes coworkers. People who won’t mind their own business. People who have half the story and a distorted version at that, yet think they have the full picture. People who offer unsolicited advice from a narrow perspective.
Sometimes they may be well-meaning and naive. But more often, if they’ve aligned with the narcissist and are delivering messages for them, they are not acting in your best interest—and they likely have their own agenda.
Be cautious of them. They’re also useful for practicing boundaries.
Move 4: Tall tales, fairy tales, and false images
When the tactics fail, they move to stories—fabrication and carefully curated images. Narcissistic people don’t “walk off into the sunset” and magically become kind and accountable with healthy empathy and a moral compass.
What you see online or hear through gossip is often an illusion. If they didn’t have the capacity to give you healthy love, they won’t suddenly grow it for whoever comes next. Don’t hurt yourself with the belief that someone else is getting what you didn’t get. Stop torturing yourself. Protect yourself by blocking them and maintaining boundaries. Keep healing and recovering—because you will need that strength for move number five.
