5 Tricks a Narcissist Pulls When They Know You Know
Three: they map out your social support system. A narcissist knows that a survivor with a strong support system is incredibly hard to control. So once they realize you know the truth, they start quietly investigating your social circle. They become extremely interested in your personal map of friends and family. They desperately want to know who you’re talking to—who actually knows what happened—which family member still trusts you, and which friend has suddenly stopped responding to their text messages.
You may notice them casually talking about people they never even cared about before. They may suddenly become overly friendly with someone very close to you. Or they will contact your friends using completely innocent excuses just to have a chat.
They’re not always looking for specific information about you. Most of the time, they’re just trying to measure exactly how far the truth has already traveled. They want to know where the leak is. They need to figure out who is validating your story so they can secretly influence those relationships before you even realize a war has started.
