5 Tricks a Narcissist Pulls When They Know You Know
Four: they slip hidden triggers into normal conversations. They do a lot of dog whistling. When they know you’re fully awake, they become way too careful to attack you directly. They stop fighting you out in the open. Instead, they start hiding their poison inside completely normal conversations.
They will speak very sweetly. They will act totally calm, and they will keep the surface looking completely clean. But then, right in the middle of a sentence, they will slip in one specific comparison that only you will get. They’ll make one hidden accusation or use one carefully chosen word that they know will hit your absolute worst emotional trigger.
They do this so casually that if you finally snap and raise your voice, they can immediately act completely confused. They will widen their eyes like this, look innocent, and say, “What did I even say? Why are you always so aggressive over nothing?” Dog whistling and action—this is the exact trap. They’re actively trying to make you explode while they remain outwardly calm. Because if you lose your temper and they stay perfectly composed, they can suddenly reverse the entire situation. They make your loud reaction look like the actual problem, completely erasing the sneaky insult they used to cause it.
They are trying to deliberately provoke you so that when you finally react, they look like the innocent victim to everyone else.
