What happens when an Empath Turns Dark on the Narcissist
A narcissist operates like a bully with a remote control. They have a specific button for every reaction they want from you. They press the guilt button by bringing up a past mistake, and you apologize. They press the fear button by threatening to leave you, and you beg them to stay. They press the anger button by ignoring you for days, and you chase after them.
This predictable loop is what gives them a sense of complete control over their environment.
When you turn dark, the remote control shatters into a million pieces. The narcissist will start pressing these buttons frantically. They will try their old tricks, but the buttons do absolutely nothing.
They throw a massive tantrum. They expect you to run over and calm them down, but you just walk out of the room to make a cup of coffee. They threaten to walk out the door forever. They expect you to cry at their feet, but you just open the door wider for them and tell them to have a nice day.
This sends a narcissist into a state of total frantic disorientation. They have no idea how to interact with a human being without a script. When their script fails, their brain begins to panic.
They realize their words have lost all their power, all their poison. Their threats do not carry any weight anymore. They are holding a useless piece of plastic, screaming at a television screen that refuses to turn on.
