When a Narcissist Realizes You Don’t Care Anymore…They Do THIS

So when a narcissist sees that you don’t care anymore, they’re going to think you saw through their mask. They’re going to think they might be able to relove bomb you again and Hoover you in time. They’re going to think you probably have somebody—because that’s why you don’t care anymore.

They may also think someone was in your ear—someone poisoned you against them. A friend, a family member, someone close to you. That’s why, a lot of times, narcissists tell you, “Don’t tell anybody our business. Keep it between us. Don’t trust people.” They try to ruin your relationships and isolate you.

So if you’re starting to not care, they may believe somebody opened your eyes to what the narcissist really is.

They may assume: “You’re stronger now because somebody is filling your head and backing you.” That’s why they fear support systems.

So a sneaky, clever narcissist might Hoover you back. Once they do, they don’t want you to be friends with certain people. They’ll say things like, “Oh, I don’t want you to listen to them. If we get back together, I love you so much, but I don’t want you talking to your best friend anymore. I don’t want you talking to your mother. I don’t want you talking to that one or that one.”

Anybody who could open your eyes and see them for who they are—they try to cut those people out.

That’s another reason narcissists love isolation. They don’t want you to have people you can run to. They want you weak, vulnerable, and dependent on them. They want you codependent on the narcissist—the only person you “can’t live without.”

Because narcissists are predators. They pray on people who don’t have much of a support system, because those are the people they know will need them, rely on them, and depend on them.

So narcissists love needy people. Needy people are harder for them to lose, because there’s no support system around to help them break away.

So when the narcissist sees you don’t care, they may handle it a few different ways. They may simply move on to the other supply they have on the side—making them the grade-A supply—and back off from you. They don’t always chase you.

If they see you’re showing real indifference, that’s a narcissistic injury. Some narcissists may react with, “Okay, you don’t care? Fine. Now I don’t care.” Then they may back off too and get busy with other people—almost like, “Go ahead. You want to play that game? I’ll go get busy with other supply. Forget you.”

But they’ll still be watching your social media. They always watch. They want to know whether you’ve got somebody else, because they automatically assume people are cheating—just like they do. So they may stalk your social media from catfish profiles. They may have mutual friends contact you—feeding information back to the narcissist so they can monitor how you’re doing.

That’s why you have to be careful who you have around you who knows the narcissist.
